Simple Equation
Q: Solve the equation: 2(3x+5) = 22
Student's Answer: 6x + 5 = 22 Step 1
6x= 17 Step 2
x = 17/6 Step 3
Correction: In Step 1, the solution is already wrong, we have to remember of the Distributive Property. In this case 2 should be distributed to both 3x and 5. So the correct answer for x should be 2.
